Trevor Fairlie (He/Him)

Chair of the Board at Start Proud

Trevor Fairlie is the Chair of Start Proud. A graduate of Osgoode Hall Law School, he is a lawyer called to the Bar of Ontario and currently practices as Legal Counsel in the Office of Mergers & Acquisitions at the Ontario Securities Commission.


Trevor has a demonstrated record of leadership and community contribution. In addition to his duties at Start Proud, Trevor sits on the board of Orchestra Toronto, one of Canada’s oldest community orchestras. In this role, he leads their governance work in addition to his regular director duties. In 2022, Trevor co-founded the Canadian Association of 2SLGBTQ+ Lawyers (CALL) and the first annual PRISME 2SLGBTQ+ Law Conference, which attracted hundreds of lawyers and students from across the country in June 2022 and raised nearly $150,000.


An emerging thought leader, Trevor has guest lectured at the University of Toronto, Osgoode Hall Law School and the National University of Singapore, and has presented at conferences and panels in New York, Amsterdam and Toronto. He has served as a legal advisor to a federally-supported international trade mission and to two political campaigns.
