A lone hawker rings a bell, tolling the end of an era, as he circles a security tower guarding the new Phnom Penh. This work is an intervention at the border of one of Phnom Penh’s new urban developments, New Town. By examining the solitude of the hawker and the polemics surrounding the processes of land acquisition and urban development the plight of the hawker is brought face to face with the by-products of urban development.
