Ryan Sims

Ryan Sims is the VP of Design at Duolingo. Prior to joining Duolingo, Ryan served as the Head of Product Design at Stripe from February 2017 to October 2018. At Stripe, Ryan was responsible for forming the first group inside Design and managed all the product designers.

Before Stripe, Ryan served as Principal Designer at Adobe from March 2015 to February 2017. During their time at Adobe, Ryan worked on various product and marketing design projects.

Prior to Adobe, Ryan was the Head of Design at Rdio from March 2011 to March 2015. At Rdio, Ryan lead the design team and defined the visual strategy for the product and product marketing. During their time at Rdio, Ryan also served as Lead Visual Designer from March 2011 to May 2012 where they orchestrated a comprehensive redesign of the Rdio marketing site, which included art directing a series of photoshoots for the homepage slideshow.

Before joining Rdio, Ryan served as a freelancer at Airbag Industries, LLC from October 2007 to January 2008. Prior to that, they were Lead Designer at Virb Inc. from July 2005 to March 2011. And before that, they were Lead Designer at Neubix Studios from October 2001 to July 2005.
