The Housing Project
Melbourne
- Presented by Pin-up Architecture & Design Project Space and Greyspace.

A playful, interactive installation and exhibition engaging with current issues surrounding housing, shelter and urban design in our city. The Housing Project is a powerful yet poetic sound composition about city life.
As people change the state of the city by placing and moving ceramic buildings and trees, the sound of the city changes. Heard in this changing soundscape are the voices of over one hundred people, offering points of view that are both personal and professional. This conversation of city life is contexualised within a composition created from field recordings taken in and around Melbourne.
The Housing Project is the most recent of a series of exhibitions, installations, activities and events co-curated with the Pin-up team that seek to pursue an issues-based design agenda within a provocative yet stimulating environment and, in dong so, reach beyond the inner-circle of practice to engage the general public.
Sponsored by The Australia Council for the Arts, City of Melbourne, City of Yarra, ArtPlay VicHealth and Tait Enterprises.
